The air intakes we offer for Corolla models come with AEM Dryflow® Air Filters. These air filters have a multi-dimensional filtering medium that captures dirt through depth loading.  The filter material is between wire screen mesh that aids in keeping the form of the filtering pleats and it helps maintain smooth airflow. AEM ETI Air Intake Systems
AEM has led the way with innovative intake designs that result in low restriction and low air temperatures entering the engine for more power and torque.  Great looks under the hood of your Toyota Corolla have been an added bonus.  Once again AEM has proven it is an innovator by designing a new generation of intake technology. AEM's ETI systems use an alternative design approach that allows the intake tube to maintain a large diameter, resulting in performance gains.  The ETI (Electronically Tuned Intake) design allows AEM to tune an engine for more power without the need to down-size the tube or manipulate air flow near the MAF sensor.

The ETI system electronically works with the MAF sensor to ensure an accurate amount of fuel is being delivered even though the airflow may be different from that what is expected with the stock system. This means the vehicle maintains the calibration as intended by the factory while enjoying the benefits of our custom designed aftermarket air intake system.

For 2011 and 2010 Toyota Corolla and Matrix XR models with 1.8 liter engine's, we offer air intake part number 41-1403C.  AEM's 41-1403C features a durable gunmetal gray powder coat finish that resists scratches and oxidation.  Drivers can also choose AEM's 41-1403P air intake which is the same intake with a different finish. This intake features a vacuum metalized finish that provides a brilliant shine under the hood. This highly durable finish resists fading and scratching.  These AEM cold air intakes feature an ETI module which electronically adjusts the MAF sensor input signal to read correct air flow. This results in large horsepower and torque gains without the risk of triggering check engine lights.  AEM testing of this intake design has shown estimated power gains of 6.9HP at 5700 RPM.

AEM Cold Air Intake Systems
For 2004 and 2003 Toyota Corolla and Matrix XR models with 1.8 liter engines AEM offers both a Cold Air Intake and Short Ram Intake design. Our Cold Air intakes for these Toyota Corolla models feature a mandrel bent tube and brilliant powder coated finish in either gunmetal gray or red.  A chrome-like polished finish is also available.

Intake number 21-469C features a gunmetal gray mandrel bent intake tube, intake number 21-469P features the vacuum metalized polished intake tube and the 21-469R features the red intake tube. For drivers concerned with hydro-lock we offer two options that can be used in combination for ultimate protection. We offer a water resistant air filter wrap, AEM part 1-4000. This wrap causes water that is splashed onto the filter wrap to bead up roll off. For those who want more protection we offer an air intake bypass valve (20-402S) that prevents water ingestion in the event the air filter is submerged in water.

AEM pioneered the Cold Air Induction System for sport compact cars in 1994. A cold air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver cooler air inlet temperatures. Cooler air is desirable since it air carries more oxygen molecules.  More oxygen can translate into more horsepower and torque. Additionally the length and diameter of the intake system are designed to achieve a ram tuning effect by working with the pressure pulses in the inlet tract of the engine with the ultimate goal of enhancing power in the more useful RPM range of the engine.  We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and OBDII sensors during product development to eliminate leaning the engine out and throwing check engine lights.

AEM Short Ram Air Intake Systems
AEM Short Ram Intake Systems are a cost effective alternative to our cold air systems and deliver performance, value and ease of installation.  During the development process, we found certain applications respond well to shorter inlet lengths.
For these applications, we offer a short ram system. Our R&D team performs extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in a cool area of the engine compartment. AEM offers a short ram air intake for 2004 and 2003 Toyota Corolla and Matrix XR models with a 1.8 liter engine.  Intake part e part 22-469P features a polished intake tube finish. Intake part number 22-469B features a blue powder coated finish and part number 22-469R features a red powder coat finish.
