AEM intake 21-728P and 21-728C incorporates an air scoop adapter to retain the Hyundai Genesis cold air intake inlet as engineered from the factory
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe broke the mold for what most people expect when they picture a sport compact import car. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe doesn’t fit with the typical front drive, small displacement Honda that tuners flocked to in the beginning of the sport compact movement. Nor is the Genesis Coupe in the all-wheel-drive, and expensive, Subaru WRX STi category. With over 270 horsepower from the factory, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe boasts 70 more horsepower than its closest competitor the Scion FR-S.
AEM Cold Air Intake 21-728C for 2013 and 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe with 2.0 liter engine is designed to provide improved power delivery in usable RPM ranges
The Theta 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder, Tci Turbo motor used in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe was part of a global joint engine manufacturing project. Because of this joint development process, the Genesis Coupe engine shares many components with the engine found in the Mitsubishi Evo X. AEM cold air intake 21-728C and 21-728P can help bridge that slight performance gap between the two cars and level the playing field.
At AEM Induction Systems our engineers design our intake systems as a fully integrated component of the vehicle. Improved airflow is only part of the power equation. 21-728C and 21-728P cold air intake systems feature an air scoop adaptor to help manage airflow and maintain Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) specs as intended by the factory. An integrated heat shield helps deflect warm ambient air from under the hood. From there, air enters the AEM Dryflow air filter, number 21-2047DK, which helps to enhance airflow while providing excellent filtration. Best of all, Dryflow Air Filter 21-2047DK does not require the use of oil. After clean air passes through the filter, a mandrel bent aluminum intake tube directs air into the engine. To satisfy personal preference AEM offers two durable finishes for the Genesis Coupe intake. 21-728C features a charcoal gray powdercoat finish, and 21-728P offers a bright, mirror-like finish.
All of the design features of the 21-728C and 21-728P cold air intake systems are tuned to improve horsepower and torque delivery in the lower, and most used, RPM range. On the dyno, 21-728C and 21-728P produced an estimated additional 12 horsepower at 2800 rpm and an impressive 23 pound-feet of torque at 2800 rpm over the factory intake system. While AEM 21-728C and 21-728P made an estimated additional 4 horsepower at peak over stock, we feel that increased power at ridiculously high RPMs will rarely be used. In addition to simply increasing horsepower, lowering restriction and increasing airflow will also reduce turbo lag and help the Hyundai Genesis Coupe turbo to spool up quicker. This in turn improves acceleration and drivability.
The 21-728C and 21-728P AEM cold air intake system is an excellent performance upgrade for your 2013 or 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe equipped with the 2.0 liter turbo engine. This is a complete air intake system including all the necessary hardware and step by step installation instructions. To provide peace of mind, AEM Induction Systems stands behind its products with a Lifetime Limited Warranty.
The 21-728C and 21-728P AEM cold air intake system will provide increased performance and excellent engine sound for the following vehicles:
2014 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE 2.0L
2013 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE 2.0L
