The AEM 21-750 Performance Cold Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Audi A4 and A5 models. Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance. The air filter is located in the original air box location and can optionally be protected by an AEM embossed heat shield which is designed to reduce intake air temperature and increase horsepower. This air intake system was developed to accommodate the engine’s factory emissions control devices including the mass air flow sensor. The tapered cylinder shaped AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). The air intake system is easy to install with commonly available tools and it is backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty. Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal. Excellent product HP Power gains are good, but you mostly notice the increased torque immediately. The fit and finish on the heat shield/top cover and filter/intake tube assembly is perfect. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars are: 1- MAF re-location causes the connector wire to have almost no slack and puts excessive strain on the wire. I was able to remedy this by taking off the plastic housing between the harness and the wire. This gives you an extra inch of slack. The only issue when you remove the plastic housing is there will be 1 inch of wire exposed to heat. I just wrapped it with some heat sheild tape. 2 - Attaching the 4 screws for the top part of the heat shield is very difficult to do because the screws are an Allen type head. AEM if you're listening, it would be better to make these attachment screws have a standard 8mm hex head so that you can get to them with a ratchet instead. Most people will not have the 10-12 inch long Allen drivers to get under the scoop for the two screws at the front. But will most likely have a ratchet with an extension. That being said, I think this is a great value at $199. The ram air design of the scoop that draws cold air to the filter is just as good as the APR intake at more than HALF the cost. Nice job and thanks of making the intake. When it comes to the A4 we don't have a lot of choices and most of the other ones out there are either too pricey or poorly designed. You (AEM) have managed to have a great design that makes power and a fair price. Kudos to you
