AEM Cold Air Intake Offers Estimated Boost of 7-Horsepower on 2017 Yaris IA and 2016 Scion IA

Scion was a marque of Toyota starting in 2003, but was discontinued in August 2016. The brand offered primarily sports compact vehicles to younger consumers. Introduced in November 2012, the Scion IA is Scion’s first 4-door sedan and is the first and only model not built in Japan. The Scion IA sold 7,605 units in the United States in 2015. After the Scion marque was discontinued, the model was re-branded as the Toyota Yaris IA for the 2017 model year. A 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 106-horsepower (79 kW) powers the Yaris IA and buyers have a choice of a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Those of you who own a 2016 Scion IA or a 2017 Toyota Yaris IA with the 1.5L engine will be interested in learning that AEM is offering the 21-804C cold air intake that offers an estimated boost of 7-horsepower at 4400 rpm for 2016 Scion IA and 2017 Toyota Yaris IA. The cold air intake includes the washable and reusable AEM 21-2011DK DryFlow Air Filter, which includes a DRYFLOW® non-woven synthetic media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before it requires servicing. The AEM 1-1000 air filter cleaner is specially formulated to cleanse and recharge the DRYFLOW air filter so that it can be used over and over again for the life of the car. The AEM 21-804C cold air intake system also includes a mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube that features a gunmetal gray powdercoated finish and that is engineered to integrate with the factory emission control devices including the mass airflow sensor and PCV line. The system is designed to replace the factory restrictive air filter and air intake housing and the air filter goes into the factory air box. There is also a heat shield to protect the filter from hot air coming from the engine. The intake installs using common hand tools and it is backed by an AEM Lifetime Limited Warranty.
