AEM Performance Strut Bar Upgrades 2015 Sonata or Optima 2.4L & 2.0 Turbo Handling

When a car equipped with a McPherson Strut suspension system, like the 2015 Hyundai Sonata or Kia Optima 2.4L NA and 2.0L Turbo is being driven through a turn there is inherent flex in the strut towers and chassis. It’s not uncommon to experience as much as 1/8” of shift in the strut towers during hard cornering. This flex can result in unpredictable handling of the car. An effectively designed performance strut bar will transmit the load incurred by shifting weight between the two strut towers and reduce the effects of chassis flex Unfortunately, many aftermarket strut tower braces have a hinged design and therefore offer little support to the strut towers. An effective performance strut bar, like those from AEM Intakes, must be rigid throughout its length. Additionally, many strut tower braces on the market could interfere with performance upgrades such as a cold air intake system. AEM Induction Systems has designed AEM performance strut bar, part number 29-0012C, to be compatible with AEM cold air or AEM short ram intakes for the 2015 Hyundai Sonata or Kia Optima 2.4L NA and 2.0L turbo.
