The Jeep Liberty KJ was introduced in 2001 as a replacement for the outgoing Jeep Cherokee XJ platform. Outside of North America the Jeep Liberty KJ is known as a Jeep Cherokee KJ. Oddly enough, production of the Jeep Liberty KK ended in 2012 and was replaced by the Jeep Cherokee KL crossover SUV. To make things more confusing, Jeep has produced the Grand Cherokee model since 1993.
