The AEM 21-788C cold air intake system has been engineered to up the power by an estimated 10 hp in 2012-2016 Chevy Sonic models.

While the small turbocharged engine in the Chevrolet Sonic produces a significant amount of horsepower for its diminutive displacement, AEM engineers determined that the motor could generate even more power and so developed the 21-788C cold air intake.

While now called the EcoFlex, the 1.4-liter turbo inline-four in the Chevrolet Sonic produces 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, it actually had its roots as an Opel (GM's German subsidiary) engine. First introduced in 2008, the EcoFlex features a light-weight, cast-iron engine block with an aluminum cylinder head. If the shortest, most efficient path between two points is a straight line, it makes you wonder what automotive engineers have in mind when they design intake air ducting. A duct with twists and turns slows down air and creates turbulence. A straight duct, on the other hand, allows for the smooth flow of air and thus a greater volume of air reaches the engine. That's the concept behind the AEM 21-772C for your 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Subaru Impreza.

The Subaru Impreza is powered by the FB20B 2.0 L horizontally-opposed four cylinder engine. The engine features double overhead camshafts and muscle car-like 10.5:1 compression ratio. The AEM 21-779C for Mazda 6 2.5L 4-cylinder engines comprises a mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube and oversized Dryflow synthetic, washable, reusable air filter with a heat shield that protects the filter.
