Engine Bay with AEM 29-0009 Strut Tower Bar Installed
When it comes to choosing a strut tower bar, there are a lot of options available, however most of these options are more “cosmetic” and not designed to be functional. Most of these cosmetic type strut tower bars are designed with hinges and/or bolted joints so that they can fit multiple applications. The issue there is that these hinges and joints can easily move or flex when stress is applied so they do nothing to help stabilize the strut towers. For the serious weekend Auto-crossers and track day enthusiasts, AEM has developed the 29-0009 strut tower bar, which fits 2013-2015 Scion FR-S 2.0 liter and 2013 Subaru BRZ 2.0 liter models. This strut tower bar stands out from the rest and is not a mere decoration that is being called a strut tower bar but a fully functional suspension component.

The AEM FR-S/BR-Z strut tower bar features large diameter thin wall tube for an excellent strength to weight ratio. Moreover, all AEM strut tower bars are designed and engineered with a completely welded structure that is custom fit for each application. By designing each strut tower bar to be application specific, focus can be placed on designing rigidity to the vehicle's strut tower configuration while the car is driven aggressively through turns on a race track and at racing events.
The installation of the strut tower bar is very easy and can be performed with a few hand tools. Simply remove the old strut braces and the 4 most inner bolts on the strut tower, setup the brake master cylinder brace, then place your new AEM 29-0009 FR-S/BR-Z strut tower bar in position, securing it with the 4 most inner bolts on the strut tower and making final adjustments to the brake master cylinder bracket. By utilizing the OEM mounting points, installation can be quick and easy.

During the engineering process, AEM’s engineers noticed that the brake master cylinder moved significantly when the brakes were applied during competition racing. So in addition to the solid design and custom fit, the 29-0009 strut tower bar also incorporates a brake master cylinder brace. The addition of this brace can help increase the brake pedal firmness and most importantly, make the braking performance much more predictable. In addition, this brace also eliminates the need to purchase a separate and costly billet brace.
In a world of purely cosmetic this strut tower bar is no poser; it works well and looks great.

AEM's 21-717C Air Intake for the Mitsubishi Eclipse
AEM offers two cold air intake systems for 2011 and 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse models with 2.4 liter engines. The 21-717P includes an aluminum tube with a vacuum metalized "polished" type finish and the 21-717C has an aluminum tube with a powder coated gunmetal gray finish.

Both air intake systems come with AEM's Dryflow "oil-free" air filter (AEM 21-202DOSK) that pulls air from the fender well. AEM's 21-202DOSK washable and reusable air filter can help protect your engine by providing excellent filtration. Furthermore, this air filter can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. When it is time to clean your AEM air filter, simply use AEM Dryflow Air Filter Cleaner (part number 1-1000). A black air filter wrap (part number 1-4000) is also available to help increase the service intervals of the air filter. An AEM air filter wrap is a great add-on for extremely dusty conditions.
When dyno tested, these air intake systems added an estimated 11 horsepower at 5800 RPM and 10 foot-pounds of torque at 5800 RPM.
Both 21-717P and 21-717C cold air intake systems are designed to be fairly easy to install and come complete with all hardware necessary for installation. As with all AEM air intake systems, both of these air intake systems are covered by the AEM Lifetime Limited Warranty.
