Isuzu moved on to the big garage in the sky on January 31, 2009, that's when they made it official that they would end new light vehicle sales in North America. For the final couple of years the Isuzu i-Series pickup truck was one of its last models available in the US. The i-Series is essentially a rebadged version of the Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon look-a-likes. The same levels of precision engineering and product development offered in the FR-S and BRZ, can be can be found in AEM's air intake system which delivers substantial gains in horsepower and torque. AEM 41-1408DS is an Electronically Tuned Intake (ETI) system engineered specifically for 2013 to 2016 Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ models with the 2.0 liter engine. The AEM intake system can be installed in around a half hour using simple hand tools.
AEM determined the engine could see performance gains with a larger diameter intake and less restriction so a larger intake duct was used in conjunction with an AEM ETI module to correct the mass air flow (MAF) signal to the electronic control unit (ECU). The ETI module allows the ECU to maintain the calibration as the factory intended it to be and eliminates a check engine light activation.

Allowing more air to the motor is important for improving power, but the air needs to be clean. AEM includes with the system a Dryflow washable and reusable air filter (part number 21-203DK) offering excellent filtration efficiency against harmful dirt particles.

ETI system also utilizes a unique closed airbox design to insulate both the air filter and the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ mass air sensor from engine heat. CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis was used extensively to ensure maximum flow into the intake air box and to provide even flow distribution around the filter in the air box. Overall the FR-S/BRZ produced an estimated 10 HP and 8.3 lbs./ft. torque @ 6500 RPM when dyno tested with the AEM intake installed.

AEM air intake 21-9227DS was designed for 2011 and 2012 Ram and Dodge Ram 2500 models with the 6.7 liter turbo diesel engine. The intake system uses the OEM air source to provide the coolest air possible for the engine. AEM inlet air temperature testing helped finalize a design that supplies near ambient temperature to the engine. Due to the proximity of the air intake to the turbocharger, an advanced polypropylene material with a high heat rating was utilized to keep incoming air cool. The custom airbox, of AEM air intake 21-9227DS, comes with an attached filter minder, which lets you know when the air filter requires service. The intake tube also provides for the factory MAF and IAT sensors. AEM research and development was able to produce an estimated gain of 8.5 horsepower and 19 ft lbs of torque at 2100 rpm.
