The Chrysler 300 has had more comebacks then Brett Favre. In the 1950's it was a proud and revered vehicle, and in the 60's its appeal faded, until disappearing altogether for over 30 years. Then in 2005 it resurfaced as the symbol of a bold new direction for the Chrysler brand, and in 2011 the second generation Chrysler 300C launched. If you haven't heard, Fiat owns Chrysler and they have decided to resuscitate the noble old American full-sized executive car, once dubbed a "mafia-spec carpool vehicle."

The large five-passenger sedan offering rear-wheel or all-wheel drive is being marketed as the Lancia Thema in all European markets, except in the United Kingdom, where it retains the Chrysler badge. The new platform is designed for drivers looking for a ride with more chutzpa than a normal family sedan and as an alternative to other entry-level luxury cars. Some of the 300's underlying mechanicals are in fact derived from Mercedes-Benz technology, and it also shares the platform with its siblings the Dodge Challenger and Charger.

A vehicle platform that dresses in such audacious style would only be comfortable sporting some serious power and there's plenty to choose from. There's a 3.6 liter V6 that produces 292 horsepower, or a 5.7 liter "Hemi" V8 that produces 363 hp, and the topper, a 6.4 liter, 470 hp V8, and every one of these big-dogs can benefit even more with an AEM 28-20460 reusable Dryflow® air filter. AEM's unique air filter design marries the best technology of various air filter types into a high performance product designed to increase horsepower and airflow, at the same time as filtering the air to protect your engine. It is as easy to install this air filter, as it is to replace your factory OE filter - not a single modification is needed.

The reusable AEM 28-20460 Dryflow air filter never requires oil, provides greater airflow and reduces air restriction. This AEM air filter can go for up to 50,000 miles before cleaning is needed depending on driving conditions, so fasten your seatbelts, and go for a long drive. It's going to be a while before cleaning is needed. Once you eventually reach the service interval, you simply wash it using a synthetic air filter cleaner, which dissolves dirt and allows it to be rinsed clean with water. This simple maintenance will make 28-20460 the last air filter you will ever buy for your car and it's backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty.

The immediate common thread running through these three vehicles is their macho badge. Dakota, Durango, and Raider all sound like characters from action adventure flicks, and of course that's by design, yet they're not exactly as they appear. Back in the late 1980s Dodge got more competitive in the compact truck market, the result was the Dakota, the first-ever midsize pickup truck.

The Dodge Durango, although labeled a midsize sport-utility vehicle, is actually fashioned a half-size larger in order to fill the niche between the midsize SUV and full-size SUV classes. While the Mitsubishi Raider's aggressive styling allowed it to slot in with the company's other sporty cars and SUV's, beneath its muscular exterior essentially beats the heart of a Dodge Dakota.

Leading to another similarity this trio shares in common, they can all upgrade their existing factory air filter with the AEM 28-20175 Dryflow® air filter. AEM's design results in a performance air filter designed to increase both horsepower and torque while protecting your truck from small particles that could damage your engine. AEM's Dryflow air filters can be used for up to 50,000 miles before cleaning is needed depending on driving conditions. When cleaning is needed just remove the air filter, spray it with synthetic air filter cleaner to loosen and dissolves dirt and grime, then rinse it clean with water. AEM's 28-20175 air filter restricts air less than typical paper air filters and that can result in extra power and torque. Less restriction also means your engine doesn't have to work as hard pulling in air.

With regular, effortless care, the AEM 28-20175 air filter will outlast any one of these tough vehicles and it is backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty. This filter is a direct replacement for the stock air filter, so it will install just as straightforward as the factory filter. Increased performance and keeping paper air filters out of landfills - the AEM Dryflow washable and reusable air filter just makes sense.

AEM Dryflow OE replacement air filter 28-20295
AEM Dryflow OE replacement air filter 28-20295
Some people claim we are riding the metallic wave of a revived muscle-car era, others say it never really went away. Ever since the restyled Dodge Charger hit the mean streets in 1968, offering the 440 Magnum and Hemi engine options, the Charger has survived in exclusive muscle car company shared only by the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang. With its distinctive "Coke bottle" body shape and über-performance capabilities many considered it the best-looking performance car of the 1960s.

In 2010, in part to appeal to family guys that weren't ready to submit to a family van, the Dodge Charger offered up a modern four-door coupe that combines rear-wheel-drive muscle-car power, sports-car handling, and five-passenger comfort into a thrilling, yet relatively fuel-efficient driving experience. Complaints from Charger traditionalists echoed loud and clear at first regarding the extra two doors. But, proving that horsepower trumps door count, the grumblings quickly faded as the powerful sedan displayed its might.

In addition to the legendary 5.7-liter Hemi V8-powered Dodge Charger R/T, there's the asphalt melting SRT-8, a 6.1-liter V8, 425-horsepower Charger, that delivers 0-60 mph in the low 5-second range, quarter-mile time in less than 14 seconds, a world-class ride and handling with benchmark braking. If you're looking to add even more performance while saving money on maintenance for your Charger, Challenger, Magnum, or Chrysler 300, look no further than the AEM 28-20295 Dryflow® OE replacement air filter. AEM air filters provide outstanding air filtration and they have less restriction than typical paper air filters, which can result in more power and torque.

Replacing the existing factory installed air filter with AEM's washable, reusable performance filter, is as easy as simply switching the filters. By simply upgrading to an AEM air filter you can stop wasting money on disposable paper air filters, and install a simple performance upgrade that can be used over and over again. How is that possible some ask? AEM gets it done with their exclusive Dryflow synthetic air filter concept that doesn't require oil. Part 28-20295 utilizes AEM's unique structural screen wire construction, for added durability and a depth loading process which allows it to perform longer between cleaning.

AEM includes their Lifetime Limited Warranty with the 28-20295 reusable air filter, so it will be the last one you'll ever need to buy for your car. After up to 50,000 miles of driving, depending on your driving conditions, you simply wash the filter using a synthetic filter cleaner, to quickly dissolve dirt, then rinse the filter clean with water.

2011-2014 Nissan Maxima Models with 3.5L Engine Get Estimated 10 HP Gain with AEM Intake

clear

AEM 21-712C air intake for 2011-2012 Nissan Maxima 3.5L
AEM 21-712C air intake for 2011-2012 Nissan Maxima 3.5L
Designing a high flow air intake system for a modern vehicle is a challenge because tight engine compartments make packaging the intake system for maximum flow and inlet air temperature (IAT) control difficult. 2011 and 2014 Nissan Maxima models proved to be no exception to this due to the placement of the original intake system. While testing various intake system designs on the dyno and on the road we noticed maintaining IAT was critical to ignition timing stability. Ignition timing is critical to power and fuel economy so our design focused on getting cool air into the engine to aid with stable timing. AEM air intake part numbers 21-712C and 21-712P were the result of our design challenge.
Dyno chart for the 21-712C and 21-712P air intake system
Dyno chart for the 21-712C and 21-712P air intake system

AEM's air intake system was designed to reduce air restriction and incoming air temperature to create more power and torque while maintaining IAT as much as possible. Since there was limited space under the Maxima's hood, the initial thought was to try to increase the diameter of the intake tube connected to the throttle body. Our power testing didn't show a difference between 3.25" and 3.5" diameter intake pipes. Since there wasn't a significant difference in horsepower the decision to use a 3.25" intake pipe on the final design was made.

The next step was to try to get better air flow by designing a one of a kind air duct to pull air from the front of the vehicle into the air box. Engineers then removed a few trim panels and made an air scoop that sits on top of the radiator core support and sends cooler air from behind the front grill to the Dryflow® AEM air filter. A custom heat shield was also added to isolate the air filter from the warmer air around the engine. After combining the air duct, air filter and heat shield with the 3.25" intake tube, it was time to test it on the dyno. This final design resulted in an estimated 10 horsepower gain and 12 lb-ft of torque at 4700rpm. This is the type of gain AEM was striving to achieve for 2011 and 2012 Nissan Maxima 3.5L models.

After product testing was complete, part number 21-712C, designed with a gunmetal gray finish, and part 21-712P, designed with a polished finish, were released for production. Both finishes are durable and will withstand years of punishment without losing their lustrous shine. All AEM air intakes come with AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty.

AEM 21-712C and 21-712P come with a non-oiled Dryflow air filter to provide superior protection and high airflow. No oil means less time spent cleaning the air filter. Just apply the cleaning solution, rinse it out, and let it dry. AEM Dryflow air filters can be used for up to 50,000 miles before cleaning is needed depending on driving conditions.

The following Nissan Maxima models benefit from AEM part numbers 21-712C and 21-712P:

2014 Nissan Maxima 3.5L
2013 Nissan Maxima 3.5L
2012 Nissan Maxima 3.5L

AEM 21-8031DC intake system
AEM 21-8031DC intake system
The Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra are both well used and trusted work vehicles and have exceptional towing capabilities. They have long shared platforms and their engines follow suit. The 6.0L engine loaded in 2500 and 3500 models of the Silverado and Sierra is an excellent example of this similarity. Making 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque this engine is no slouch. Whether you're driving through dirty working conditions or just have the need for additional power, the 21-8031DC performance air intake system can help to make the difference. This intake is specifically designed for the 6.0L engine found in both the GMC and the Chevy. With an estimated 13 horsepower gain at 5100 RPM this air intake will interest both those looking for a performance gain and those looking for that slight towing edge.

AEM's Dryflow® synthetic material is used with this air filter. It is extremely durable with a high holding capacity for dirt, lengthening the amount of time between cleanings. The Dryflow media is covered and protected by a wire mesh of epoxy covered aluminum on both sides. The filter media used is unoiled, making the cleaning process simple and removing the possibility of over-oiling the filter. The cleaning solution is a mild cleaner and degreaser which simply removes the built up of dirt and grime so the filter can be easily rinsed clean and reused again and again.

The filter for this air intake is contained in an air box which pulls air from around the radiator core support to ensure near-ambient air temperatures. This has paid off with an estimated increase of 13 horsepower and 14 lb-ft. of torque to the wheels of a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 6.0L truck at 5100 RPM. Additionally the removable top for this air box will make filter access easy and straightforward. The intake also comes with a Filter Minder to let you know when the air filter should be cleaned without removing the air box cover. The installation of this intake is simple and all required parts are included. Owners can even watch the air intake installation video on AEM's website. The 21-8031DC intake kit will not void your GMC or Chevrolet warranty and it is also covered by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty.

The 21-8031DC air intake system fits the following Chevy trucks:
