I put this CAI on my 2016 Ford Explorer XLT. The installation was smooth as when installed a (Brand Replacement) CAI on my F-150. The only hang up I had was getting the heat shield to fit into the stock grommets, the heat shield slightly set upon the transmission fluid reservoir; but with some force it fit snug. It seems like the bottom left corner of the heat shield could have been cut at an angle for a slightly better fit. Nonetheless this CAI is AWESOME! First, the SOUND is tough, particularly at high rpms. Second, the LOOK of the heat shield and tube in the engine bay, looks like it is meant to be there unlike the (Brand Replacement) CAI. Third, the POWER gain is noticible; when you lay into the throttle it accelerates quicker, and pushes you back in your seat a little more. It's hard for me to trust the dynocharts for any CAI, there just are too many variables at play to know what will happen in your application. I do know that more air equals more power. And this CAI brings in the air. Therefore, I wouldn't dwell to long on (Brand Replacement) alleged 13 HP gain. I can't prove it's erroneous, but it seems a bit far fetched. Thus, if you are looking for a CAI that looks SLEEK, sounds FIERCE, and TRULY increases your Explorer's power then go AEM and buy this awesome CAI.
