I want to write a quality review for this quality product.
My first experience with an AEM intake was in 2005 with my RSX. I bought a short ram intake and I can say with complete confidence and certainty that this is one of the best basic modification you can do to your car. After installation, I immediately noticed an increase in throttle response. The gas pedal became more responsive/sensitive. The car climbed RPM's faster in all situations whether racing or normal street driving. On top of that, you can now hear an induction sound and it just feels so satisfying. I did not dyno this car to validate any power gains, but my butt dyno was pleased enough. Changing from 1st to 2nd gear was smoother as the nudge from changing gears disappeared.
My second AEM purchase was to buy this panel filter for my 2016 Miata Club. As with the RSX, I noticed the same. Throttle response was increased, but this time around I did not hear a change in induction sound. Instead, I now hear my stock exhaust have more of a rumble to it. Maybe due to the higher air flow there is more air going through the exhaust? And changing gears from 1st to 2nd is smoother. There is no more nudge when changing gears. This time around, I used my gf as the butt dyno. She had no idea I had swapped intakes and when I went to redline, she told me this; " You did something to that car didn't you." She later then told me that yes, it did pull harder. Since I drive a 2300 pound car, 5HP and 5Torque is more noticeable.
I will always use AEM products because they are of high quality and the fact that they do not use any oil is a big plus. I do not want any issues with my MAF sensor.
Thank You AEM.
