This intake system includes an aerodynamic mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube, large open element AEM DRYFLOW® synthethic air filter, and a custom enclosed air box to help protect intake air from engine heat. Increasing airflow will help improve acceleration, horsepower, and engine sound. Add an estimated 13.1 horsepower at 5100 RPM and 13.1 lb-ft of additional torque at 2700 RPM to your 2017-2018 Kia Sportage 2.0L with the AEM air intake 21-847C.

1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable

2. Remove the two pins that secure the fresh air intake duct to the core support

3. Remove the bolt that secures the battery hold down and then slide the battery forward to gain access

Loosen the hose clamp that secures the intake tube to the air filter housing

5. Remove the bolt that secures the air filter housing into the vehicle

and then remove the air filter housing from the vehicle

6. Release the spring clamps that secure the vent lines to the factory intake hose

and then disconnect the vent lines from the intake hose

7. Loosen the hose clamp that secures the factory intake hose to the turbo inlet

8. Install the provided coupling hose (08188) onto the turbo inlet and secure with the provided hose clamp

10. Install the 10.5”, 10.0” and 4.75” edge trim onto the heat shield as shown

12. Install the provided filter adapter into the heat shield and secure with the provided hardware

13. Install the air filter onto the adapter and secure with the provided hose clamp

14. Install the provided window logo into the heat shield lid and secure with the provided hardware

15. Install the remaining 18.75” section of the edge trim onto the heat shield as shown

17. Install the provided coupler (084055) onto the filter adapter and secure with the provided hose clamp

18. Install the provided rubber mounted stud onto the factory air filter housing mounting location as shown

Install the AEM® air filter assembly so the mounting studs insert into the mounting grommets

and then secure to the rubber mounted stud using the provided hardware

Slide the battery back into position and secure with the factory hardware

21. Install the provided 90º vent fitting into the AEM® intake tube as shown

22. Install the AEM® intake tube into the couplers, align the tube for best fit

Connect the 3 vent lines to the fittings in the intake tube and secure with the factory spring clamps
