This air intake comes with all components needed for an easy installation, along with detailed installation instructions. The tools needed are shown:
  • 6mm nut driver
  • 7mm nut driver
  • 10mm open wrench
  • 10mm socket
  • 7mm socket
  • Ratchet
  • Extension
  • 4mm hex key
  • T20 Torx
  • Small torque wrench


  • Instructions:
    • Start by turning off the ignition and disconnecting the negative battery cable.
    • Pull the hood release cable from the three clips on the stock air box.
    • Disconnect the Mass Air Flow sensor harness. Pull the vacuum line off of the nipple on the back of the stock air box. Loosen the hose clamp near the MAF sensor and pull the stock air box from the vehicle.
    • Loosen the hose clamp securing the stock inlet pipe and remove the inlet pipe.
    • Remove the two T20 TORX screws and pull the MAF sensor from the stock air box.
    • Install the MAF sensor onto the AEM air box using the factory screws. Install the 1/8” NPT barbed fitting hand tight, then turn two complete turns with a wrench.
    • For vehicles not equipped with the vacuum line install the supplied 1/8” NPT plug. Place the steel retaining ring over the AEM filter.
    • Place the filter and ring into the AEM air box. Align the threaded holes in the ring to the holes in the air box and Secure the filter with the provided hardware.
    • Connect the supplied MAF harness extension. Connect the 5/32” vacuum line to the barbed fitting. Then, insert the 1/8” hose connector to the other end of the vacuum line.
    • Route the MAF extension harness around the air box. Reconnect the harness and the vacuum line if equipped.
    • Place the air box into the vehicle. Make sure the inlet scoop and inlet hose are seated properly onto the air box.
    • Tighten the inlet pipe hose clamp.
    • Install the clear AEM badge using the provided hardware
    • Install the mounting bracket onto the airbox using the provided hardware..
    • Insert the grommet into the hole and secure the plastic stud mount using the provided hardware.
    • It may be helpful to remove the forward center grommet from the vehicle and install it onto the mounting bracket prior to installing the AEM air box lid into the vehicle.
    • Place the air box lid into the vehicle. Make sure the lid fully seats in all three of the grommets. Then, secure the lid to the air box with the provided hardware.
    • Lastly, reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable. Double check to make sure everything is tight and properly positioned before starting the vehicle.


    Check periodically for realignment, clearance and tightening of all connections. Failure to follow the installation instructions or proper maintenance may void your warranty.
